tell your story - change the world!
This is the alternative Channukah greeting card that I created after being unable to find any suitable Southern Hemispheric e-cards (i.e.without snow!).
I made it a rainbow story, not only with the colours on the backgrounds of the images, but by including the 8 themes, one for each day of Channukah. These themes are important for me and how I live my life as a Jewish Australian.
My partner and I grew the sunflowers ourselves, as a bit of a social experiment. We live in a low-socio-economic suburb of Adelaide with a bad reputation. We were warned a few times that our sunflowers wouldn't last, but this has not been the case. Instead, the sunflowers have created many conversations amongst passersby, and have helped us form positive relationships with some of our neighbours.
For me, the most important of the 8 themes of Channukah is Tikkun Olam - heal the world. We do this through our own actions, words and the choices we make.
