World Hepatitis Day 2012

 Today is National Hepatitis Day and if you live in Adelaide check out the play that is touring called "Body Armour" it is awesome.. Look at the Hepatitis SA website for more information.As a woman living with both HIV and Hep C uninvited in my life for over 25 years now I am disappointed at the lack of education available about both blood born viruses. Reflections at the start of the silly season!

While growing up the Catholic Church was my moral compass and, later, the Woodstock era was like a magnet for me. It doesn't matter how or when I became HIV positive… because I'm still the same person.

Profile Information

What would you most like to change about the world that you live in?
The amount of discrimination that exist and the level of judgements that people direct at others .Diversity and difference needs to be be celebrated not ridiculed.I am incredibly passionate about HIV awareness education for all people but especially young woman. I work at the HIV woman's project at WHS and chair a national positive women's network. My vision is to ensure that young woman are informed about their sexual and reeproductive health and rights and feel empowered to make choices . I would consider effective change has occurred when I see a basket of male condoms alongside a basket of female condoms..
What can you do to make it happen?
Live by positive example and learn how to create digital stories. Continue to tell stories that will make a difference.
When you're not busy changing the world, what do you do for fun?
Read, volunteer at Positive Living S.A., watch old movies and meet new people.
