What would you most like to change about the world that you live in?
Fear, spawned by ignorance that leads to judgementalism, discrimination, marginalisation & the rejection of fellow human beings.
What can you do to make it happen?
Engage in activities to bring about greater knowledge & understanding & counter the paranoid reactions to 'difference' that may make room for basic human respect.

Yeah I know what you mean - I'm working out a few things - if you 'add comment' the thread or conversation is visible to other members whereas you have to poke around a bit (look at a member's page) to find threads that have been posted via 'send a message'. I think I'll need to do a FAQ section sometime... you can wait until your video is uploaded before you start your blog or just 'give it a shot' any old time - that's what I'm doing!
Re: friends - you can invite anyone you like to join the network by clicking invite and entering their e:mail address and a message. If you're concerned about privacvy you can also edit your profile settings so that your video and blog posts are only visible to your 'friends' as opposed to all members in the network...
The plan is to do a small amount of 'technical tweaking' on some of the stories (mostly audio levels and a few clunky transitions in some) then, with each storyteller's permission, I'll do the upload. However I'd love you all to write an accompanying description and/or blog about what the process was like and what range of reactions you've gotten... your stories (both movies and anecdotes) are pretty inspiring ; ) How does that sound?
That's awesome Karen... I look forward to hearing how becoming 'an advocate' serves you well, both personally and professionally - a good subject for a potential blog here too? Anymore updates on how things have unfolded with your sister? Have you shown your piece to anyone else yet? We're still organising burning DVD's for you all...
The header is a temporary one - hopefully we'll be able to customise with some 'tree' graphics that will be more symbolic... I like the idea that, whilst we might all be hanging out on different branches with different life experiences, our collective stories will grow... into a big old peaceful beautiful 'family tree' - and our connections to one another might just make the difference that you speak of in your profile info ; ) Muddled, yet idealistic?
Hi Karen! Well done - you made your way here very quickly! Do you think you'll have fun customizing your section? I'm just exploring 'chat'... not sure how it all works yet ; )
