tell your story - change the world!

The transgendered life does not have to be a lonely one... my loved ones accepted me in time, especially when they saw how much happier I am... and I have two families now!

Sean Sean Sean, thank you thank you thank you. Your story is a reminder of how important it has been for our family to take the necessary steps, outside of society's comfort zone, in order to affirm our daughter's right to be who she is and always has been. It was also lovely to meet your folks on the weekend. Proud you must be of such a beautiful and honest story. Love to you from all of our family XX

Sean - I have been waiting and waiting to see yours.... it's wonderful. You've included so many special photos that it's really interesting to see how you've grown into yourself. well done! I hope you like it, too.

Back to Happiness – by Sean Miller

This story is a very short summary of my journey from birth to discovering my transgender status, and the families who support me along the way.

I asked all of my close family and friends whether I could use pictures of them in my video and only one person said that they were not comfortable with their picture being in it. I grappled with the idea that I could just blur their face out, but then it felt like the person was ashamed to be associated with me, and I knew that wasn’t it. After some further thought, I realised that they had as much right as I did to control the way they are represented. So I cut the person out of a photo. I still wish I could have shown my entire support base in the video but I think people get the picture, so to speak ; )
