My partner and I grew the sunflowers ourselves, as a bit of a social experiment. We live in a low-socio-economic suburb of Adelaide with a bad reputation. We were warned a few times that our sunflowers wouldn't last, but this has not been the case. Instead, the sunflowers have created many conversations amongst passersby, and have helped us form positive relationships with some of our neighbours.<br />
For me, the most important of the 8 themes of Channukah is Tikkun Olam - heal the world. We do this through our own actions, words and the choices we make.
