tell your story - change the world!
My daughter's take on gay marriage and religious fundamentalism... and the homophobia that lives and breathes as a result of too many of us doing nothing. Read about the context at my blog on www.rainbowfamilytree.com... and if you’re inspired to act make your voice heard at www.australianmarriageequality.com. Please circulate the story widely and let us know on our Rainbow-Family-Tree facebook page what discussions unfold because of it!

Comment by Kimby on May 30, 2011 at 13:08 I can understand why she did not do her speech. I'm a teacher, and in DECS schools I'm not allowed to mention the fact that I am in a same sex relationship - even though my collegues make public their relationships, wedding plans, families,... dates, etc. I cannot display family photos on my wall as they do. I have to lie when students ask me questions. If I can't even do that, how could she feel safe to talk about her mums?
I saw you guys there on the day, have some photos if you would like them :)

Comment by Rainbow Family Tree on May 29, 2011 at 9:14 Thank you - our family can really relate to this. We have two little girls aged 9yrs and 6 yrs and school can be challenging. Your gorgeous wee gal has a big brave heart and I'm sure with your love and support will present many, many speeches in the future - whether to one person or many and her voice will be heard. Thank you for this insightful clip.
