What would you most like to change about the world that you live in?: making a wider range of families/relationships intelligible

What can you do to make it happen?: challenging other people's normative actions/assumptions, speaking about unintelligible ways of being as though they are intelligible so that other people have to rise to the challenge!

When you're not busy changing the world, what do you do for fun?: lol i dont have a lot of spare time. ummm watch something interesting or potter in the garden? oh and i love roller derby! and i love travelling.

gay media, parenting and ambivalence

So this is out in the 'father's day' issue of Blaze - Adelaide queer street mag. I am a bit ambivalent about it myself - first they wanted a 'dad and baby' cover story. When i said i didnt have a baby; that images of our children (as foster children) cant appear in media; and that i didnt know anyone with a baby (though i have since realised i do!!), they were about ready to drop the story. Some things change, others stay the same

Since we made our digidoc a few years ago a lot has changed. Gary and Jayden are both 2 years older, and now we have a third child, Liam. As parents lots has changed in our relationship to one another, partly due to the passage of time, partly due to having a third child, and perhaps largely due to how other people perceive us.
